Confessions of a rug hoarder.........

we don't throw away but have a registered charity rescue place near us so take anything we don't need there, easier to get rid of rugs to a good cause, taking some there this weekend, including a stable rug I have owned since 1994 and used about 10 times!! Could hardly bear to part with it but it will keep some poor rescue horsey warm! They take some real hard luck cases so I feel better about parting with things.

I actually found the rugs I bought when I first bought my old boy, they dont make them anymore and I dont mean just these seasons colour.

When clearing out my shed I found a canvas new zealand and a jute.

As I have owned him for 27 years you can tell how old they are.

Best bit is they are still in good condition, perhaps a museum would like them

I have to have a rug room - where would I put all my rugs else!!

Although I have to say my rug room usually overflows into some rugs being in stables, some in the hay shed, some over the tack room door.... and so it goes on...

That's a pretty good reason to have a rug room. My rugs live either in their bags on a shelf in the heated pump room or actually on the horses. Can't see me ever having enough rugs to fill an entire room.

My official tackroom in the barn (taken over by OH as a workshop) has rails, hooks and drying racks along with central heating (the cats LOVE that room in winter) so I do actually have a nice room available, I just don't have enough tack or rugs to warrant using it.

See I really want one of those heated rug dryer jobbies - but don't think I have room around the stables to fit it in

Although dad has just built an extension to put his traps in, so maybe I could put it in there!

2 fly rugs
1 cooler
1 cotton sheet
1 exercise sheet
4 LW turnouts
2 MW turnouts
1 HW turnout
1 LW stable
2 MW stable
1 HW stable

I think thats them all hehe
