I've only taken my 20 year old Autumn Hunting 3 times this Season , it was her first time ever and she lapped it up and behaved really well. I bottled out last week due to a minor family crisis, and she also wasn't clipped. Now she is clipped and ready to go and I've committed to this Saturday. But I get really wobbly about it. I'm 61 and had only hunted a few times before I got her (on a real old timer), I'm not great at jumping and will worry all week. Anyone else get nervous? I do love it though and so does she, and I want to support my Hunt whilst we're allowed to in Wales.

Oh bless you - I often worry before a days hunting, especially if it is a jumping meet, and I have hunted 17 seasons now! My advice is to feel the fear and do it anyhow - you may surprise yourself! Re the jumping, most fields will have people that don't want to/like jumping so maybe ask the Sec when you pay your cap if there is anyone like minded they could suggest you pal up with?

If you don't mind me asking, which pack as we hunt in Wales too? Pm if you would rather.....

Thank you L&M, yes I need to just do it anyway. As an ex rock climber I still have that stupid 'gung ho' side to me. It's the Flint and Denbigh. Some of them know me as the newcomer and a wimp to boot, but I try.!
