confidence issue

does anyone else have big issues with there confidence when they buy a new horse, when i went to look at her i rode her great but now shes back home i feel like a wreck, im great on my cob so know i can do it, i dont think it helps that i have noone to ride with and always go it alone, is it normal or will someone please give me a big kick up the backside and tell me to just get on with it

it is normal to feel a little apprehensive when riding your new horse at home for the first time but the longer you leave it the harder it will be and the more likely you are to have problems. I do think allowing a few days to settle in is fine but after that you do need to start working your horse or else they will think they have been retired.
