So it seems I'm having a confidence wobble :(
I know what it is too, I started college in September and was so confident, I had been for a few years! No matter how much I came off or how silly or strong, buckers, bolters, rearers nothing fazed me on the flat! (Jumping a a different story! But that doesn't really matter at the moment.)
Due to my confidence, and I like to think I'm quite a capable rider (don't we all!) I was put on the loons all the time, which at first didn't really bother me! But I've ridden a couple of fresh boys recently who have been bronkers, and bronked all the way down the long side on several occasions, and my instructor has always just said "don't worry he's fresh"
Every time I just carry on like nothing's happened, don't make a big deal out if it do the exercise again, often a repeated silly episode! But I don't come off, (after having my boy, you kinda have to learn to sit to bucks).
I can feel the nerves creeping up, but I just don't show anything?
I get this horrible dread/butterfly's when I think about my riding sessions in college :L I'm still fine with my boy, but really starting to doubt my own ability, I just don't think I'm good enough anymore.
Like a said on my boy and the horses I've know for years I'm fine ! And there often a lot worse than the college horses and I still love riding but I feel like I can't ride :( and maybe shouldn't be riding... And it's made me think I'm not good enough for my boy.
Urghh... It's so annoying! I've spent 9yrs developing my confidence and ability, it's just a bit disheartening, I don't really know what to do about it.
Like I said I still love riding, but I just don't know.
Pointless whine really! Sorry guys, just wanted to get it off my chest!
I'm just being silly aren't I! Silly silly me.
Thank you for reading! (Well done if you made it this far!) x

Talk to someone at your college - urgently!

There is no point in having your confidence knocked and ending up feeling to scared to ride when you are there to ride... Your instructor is there to help, teach and guide and will be much happier if you speak up and sort out your confidence issues!
