Isn’t it funny how it changes?
iused to be a very confident rider and would literally ride anything, but after a succession of falls that came out of nowhere (one landing me in hospital) my confidence was shattered, super cob has gradually helped me build this back up but I still have bad days.

the other day he was an idiot, I had very little breaks but just went with it as at least I could steer and we had a great time, I was a little nervous to start but was fine.
Today all I could do was get on and walk a few steps. They had been wild being caught but hat usually doesn’t translate to his ridden work.

odly enough the one thing that makes me really nervous is not having breaks, I feel much happier getting on something that with buck or bronk than I will something that doesn’t stop

After a certain age and once you have lost the glorious confidence of ignorance, I think confidence is a skill you just have to continuously work on.

My old trainer used to describe it like a bank - every good ride is a deposit, every scary ride / fall is a withdrawal - and you need to find a way to keep a positive balance.

It can literally change over night. I can have an excellent ride, even jumping (which terrifies me) and be really confident, get on the next day and be a mess

i feel more confident getting on the horse who is more likely to buck or bronk, i think because she never has done anything out of place with me
