Am feeling so anxious about riding, so really need to get my act together and sort my confidence out!

Has anyone tried these cds? Thought there would just be one, buy it, listen to it and bobs your uncle, but there are loads!

I am just generally lacking in confidence and get to feeling very anxious about riding, and even handling her now in general. Not because of anything in particular, I've never been the most confident, but add in a bit of spring grass and I really feel pretty low now.

So, have you used one of these and found it helpful? Which did you use? Fairly low on £ atm so one of these cds seem ideal, unless someone had super amazing results from something more expensive then I would rather not shell out more (but if it really helped your confidence then recommend away!).

Thanks guys!

I used the flatwork schooling one which I downloaded on 3rd April because I was nervous about cantering my youngster (he fell with me once - he didn't drop me, and scrambled to his feet, but I was a bit unnerved....). Worked a treat, and I am happy cantering him in the school and also out on hacks having listened to it maybe 5 or 6 times.

Did my first Prelim dressage on him at the weekend - I get so worried about competing I don't sleep for a week beforehand, and sometimes I'm sick when I get there, so I also bought the dressage one on 14th May - only listened to it 3 times but it did make a difference - I slept! and my OH said that I was much more relaxed than usual. (Me and Bertie doing Prelim 4 last Sunday: http://youtu.be/EMhi1sqeLNo - I know it isn't pretty, but we did it, and we got a 6th place rosette!)

The downloads are less than a tenner - they worked for me but even if they don't work for you, they are worth a try at that price, I reckon!

Thanks, that's really helpful. Well done with your outing! We've quit competing, the sleepless nights and feeling sick throughout just weren't worth it! I just want to go back to enjoying hacking and being with her again.

What is the difference between the downloads and the CDs?

One is posted out on a physical CD, the other you download the files that they would otherwise burn to the CD...

Must dig out my jumping one again, but I do find it hard finding 40 minutes spare where I don't want to be doing something else!

The downloads are MP3s of the CDs - so they are instantly available. I put mine on my Kindle to listen to - it's more convenient for me to download an MP3 to stick on there. I thought I'd given up competing (no spring chicken, and the nerves were awful), so I started doing Internet dressage and then progressed on to Intro (Walk and Trot) tests - he's 5 now, and now we're doing Prelim this summer, and I'm really not stressed about it! Only do one a month at the local Riding Club.

Been there too! Have a bottle of rescue remedy to hand while you are listening to CDs - it works a treat AND doesn't cost a fortune !!
