After a small break of owning, tho have been working with horses since forever finally got my house with land and a very easy going OH, horse 1 arrived yesterday, horse 2 arrives monday and horse 3 in around 3 weeks time. I'm lucky in the fact that I work part time but 3 horses in the winter!!!! Please tell me I'm mad :-)

Very happy. I know its quick but one is a youngster and the other 2 are ex racers that really needed home and I couldn't resist. I did work with racers so know what I'm letting myself in for and have plently of grass and seperate paddocks if we have problems. It wasn't a quick decision to have so many just happened quickly.

Having them at home is much easier to deal with, you don't have to worry about how you're going to get to the yard in the snow etc.
I always found in the past that it was the riding in the winter I couldn't be bothered with (now at 23yo it's the kid at the yard that rides her so i'm sorted), quite happy to muck out do haynets etc but water in the winter when it's minus 14 for two weeks can be a bit of a luxury!!!!
Will you be riding the 2 ex-racers or are they going to be field ornaments?

Riding one, the other is having at least the winter off as he is still quite young so although will play about with the other two only riding one. Definatly big plus to have them at home. I wouldn't have been quite so crazy had I not been lucky enough to keep at home

Bonkers :)
But hey, at least you have your own land, makes things much easier - you'd be certifiably insane to have taken on 3 so quick on a yard!!
Good luck and enjoy your neds!

mad as a box of frogs:D:D

about as mad as me though, i took on 2 that i'd never set eyes on:eek: only photos, they were supposed to be coming about 6 weeks apart but one refused to load for about 3 months so i did get chance to get used to the big one before the daft one arrived:D

sits in corner drbbling...........:eek:we have ours at home which means you can't bully others into helping you , glad you said your OH was up for it - he's just been promoted to head groom / poo picker and general dogs body:D:D

Luckily too we have some lovely neighbours just in case of holidays and for helping hands....but then again it could just be trying to persude myself it was a good idea

couple od pic not great, but will do more when we are doing more, hes just having a couple of weeks chill out. and his sale stickers are off now and plaits out.

Not mad at all - you of course need 3! One to ride and then the other 2 can keep each other company! The chestnut looks a sweety xx
