Ok I have never asked for one of these before. But this is Samba 14.1hh welsh x hackney.

What is she like confo wise?? I think she looks quite good considering she had two foals back to back last year.

Shes a bit tubby but she looses it quick. Shes gone from no grass, to lots of grass then she lost her muzzle and exploded, now found it and loosing weight again plus we are hacking out more now. Shes built up a lot in front I think, muscle wise. She did have most of November - May off this year as we moved from Kent to Sussex, I found my feet living on my own and started a new job etc.

Also what show class may suit her?? Tempted to take her to some indoor inhand stuff this winter before I attempt a dressage test with her. I think WHP but im an adult?

Thank

Thank you

The pic where you have pulled the tail aside and you see the bum/inside of thighs... i love that area on horses, its so soft hehe......... totally random, but that pic made me smile!!

What does small on the shoulder mean? I struggle to get rugs to fit round her shouler and she has a big front action so I always thought she had big shoulders?

i think they mean that she doesnt have much slope/angle to the shoulder, i would say she has a rather 'upright' shouler. my newforest is like that but always did well showing despite this. shes pretty.

I think she's lovely! Bless her at the sale. I think she would look nice doing a local WH class, adults can do them. Near where I live some shows hold a Novice working hunter class where the jumps are 2ft3 and anyone can enter :).

I personally think she has a very good shoulder. Little short in the neck, but only being picky, needs more topline ie muscle over back end. She is a little long in the back, but being a mare you can forgive this. Good limbs which are a little light of bone but they are clean. Good hocks and nice deep girth and big chest. Lovely pony with a lovely face x

This :)
But I am no pro so feel free to ignore me ;)
She is a really lovely looking girl though :)
How old is she? I'd say she could do with a bit more muscle along her back :)
Very clean legs :)
xx

Awww thank you for kind comments, she is indeed pretty and a bit of a diva with it!!

Shes 9 years old now and just hacking with me and now we are settled into livery will start lessons.

I think her short neck is an attribute of her hackneyness as when she gets a bit on edge out hacking I have ears in my face lol.

Does anyone think her front hooves are a little forward or is that just me?

@Devonshire Dumpling you would not like that area in my other pony when shes in season ergh!!!

For me she is lacking a bit of shoulder, could just be the angle causing it... I imagine that with a saddle on (even sat correctly nicely behind the shoulder) she'd look like there wasn't much infront of the saddle - if you look at the area of her shoulder compared to her hindquarters, it's a lot different. Plus being quite long in the loin like most mares, might lead to her looking a bit uneven/unbalanced.
It IS hard to say much about her shoulders though, cos she's stood with them turned away from the camera! :) So could just be that! She's a nice sort though, very bonny :D

I disagree with some of the others - from the 1st photo she looks to have quite a nice slope of shoulder, but the heels on her front feet are too high, making her look like she has upright pasterns. Nice pony, and well improved!
