Any comments appreciated, espec about how to improve my horse's topline, he is only 6, 17.3hh, and has been turned away for about 9 months through no fault of his own.

Any comments on how and what we can improve would be appreciated, especially the how!

Well if your horse has been turned away for a while he is not have much of a top line anyway as that normally comes through schooling, working soft etc. So that leads me to say some schooling be it on the roads etc. and with a big beastie it would not have finished growing maturing etc till 8/9 so take your time and dont rush. what breed is he

Thanks guys!

sammyj , belgian WB x ISH. He was a bit ribby when we got him a few weeks ago so we have him on conditioning mix etc and he is filling out nicely. ad lib haylege helps too though!

Rema, thank you, he is such an honest chap and he always gives you 100%, even to my total novice OH who he could totally take the pee with, we just dont want to push him too much too soon, that vid was the first time he was ridden when we brought him home, and he was an angel.

this may sound totally stupid n v.obvious but he will look instantly better by pulling his mane, tail n forelock, cutting the bottom of his tail off, trimming his whiskers n general hairs, he seems like a lovely sort, genuine, the topline n condition will come in time n then u will look at those pics n think omg is dat the same horse!!!

long lost twins lol

Well, I think he's a tremendous looking chap - who'se going to give you hours of fun.

No quick way to top line development as I'm sure you know. But given correct feeding regime and work he will be looking tip top in no time.

Thanks so much PF and AmyMay, he he yes his main activity for 9 months has been eating! such a hard life!

He loves having a job to do though and we cant wait to get cracking , mane and tail will be sorted out this weekend, I havent even started on my other one yet, he looks like the thing from the swamp!
