She is a 16hh Warmblood X. I'm looking to build her muscle up, and was wondering if anyone could give their opinion on her weight/conformation? Thanks 😊IMG_3015.jpegIMG_3338.jpegIMG_2676.jpeg

IMG_3455.jpeghas a physio seen her? does she always stand the same way?
Yes, she has had physio whilst she has been with us. I'll include a picture of the report we got back.. she had time off work as she had a sore back, but the physio wasn't worried about anything else.

Just gone back to pictures of when we first got her.. yes she is stood the exact same way on almost every picture. I've also had a look at photos of her past owners from about 5 years ago now, and she stands the exact same way, every picture..

Rosie it isn't very normal to buy a horse and then ask for a confirmation critique, in case you get responses that you don't like or worry you unnecessarily. She isn't perfect but if you're happy with her and your physio is seeing her then that's good enough for me. Is there any particular reason why you're asking?

I would look at postural groundwork for her to get her thoracic sling stronger and working properly, sbloom on here knows a few sites on Facebook that could help.

I would sort those front feet out they look really long.

How old is she?

Her feet were in a terrible state when we first got her, we had to take shoes off for them to grow back. She naturally has longer feet, they have since become much more a much better shape from this picture, and she now has her front shoes back on. She sees the farrier every 6-8 weeks.

She is 15.

If the horse in front of you is sound then I won’t worry you unnecessarily. That being said I would do some in hand strengthening work with her and always keep an eye on her hind end, get it/keep it well muscled. 🙂
If the physio is happy then I’m happy.

I’d just be careful with your saddle fitting as she’s quite short backed, and looks to have shoulders set back too although hard to be sure without hands on. Looks hard to fit a saddle to anyway.
Hope you enjoy her 🙂
Was gonna mention the saddle fit she looks to have a bit of muscle wastage behind the shoulder and she is a bit flat at the base of the wither.

You may need a more remedial saddle fitting approach to get that muscle back and get her more comfortable, cshe may have had a badly fitted saddle in the past to have caused that.

She's has the same saddle for years now, she recently had the saddle fitter and she was mostly happy with it, she just recommended us a Prolite half pad which we have purchased. 😊

Looking at her back I would think that saddle doesn't fit and putting a prolite under it could possibly make it worse especially if it's not wide enough.

Not all saddle fitters are any good learnt that along time ago, had 3 different ones out for my horse all trying to fit a saddle to a back with muscle wastage so each time they flock it to fit the wastage which just causes it to get worse.

How long have you known her RRR, and how long have you owned her? You call her "new" but it sounds as if you've had her a while if she's had her shoes off to grow a better foot. If she's now shod in front then 8 weeks is far too long an interval with a horse of her type and is asking for problems as she gets older, I'm afraid.

I'm confused why OP is asking for opinions/comments from people on the internet when there is a physio report right there from someone who has seen the horse in real life and raised areas of concern (including shading in the bit of back where the saddle sits), and given advice (granted I can't read all of it clearly). Presumably the physio will offer follow up/further advice if the goal is building muscle?

Do you have two logons that you set up a couple of weeks apart? Could you stick to using one or or the other or this will get very confusing.
