Conformation Critique

I`m not very good with conformation so would be interested to know what people think.... not sure if pics are good enough but only had my camera phone on me.
She`s lacking muscle as hasnt been worked a lot recently and dont really want to load it on her as she`s just gone 4......she`s started to look bum high again which i thought wasnt possible but that may just be me

Regardless of what I'm going to say next, I think she is very pretty and has a nice eye/face. I also think that some of her imperfections may even themselves up if she grows or matures any more.

Now for the not so complementary bit...
- Yes, she is croup high. But she may still be growing, so this could mimprove itself.
- A consequence of this is that she looks quite wasp-waisted. However, this may simply be an illusion due to her downhillness, and may look much better if she was level.
- It could just be that she's standing badly, but she does look to toe-out infront, with a narrow chest.
- Her front feet appear to be broken which is when the foot axis is more upright than the pastern axis (“coon foot” it gets called, but I can't remember the proper term!!)
-It's quite hard for me to judge her pastern confo, as once she is shod the angles may look different. However if they did not improve when the mare is shod, I would be a little worried about long term soundness to be perfectly honest they look very very sloping, which can have bad affects.
- Again, I can't tell from the pictures (especially since I've managed to zoom out! what on earth!) but she may be a little sickle hocked or cow hocked.

All of that said..... I would still take her home because she has a pretty face

Lots of maturing to do.

And watch those feet. Pre-book your farrier appointments to ensure that they are not allowed to over-grow.

Be careful about too much work too young with her, as her legs won't be up to it.

I try to pre book but he re books booking...its annoying and i dont trust any other farrier with her! Theyre all heavy handed or poor at shoeing.

I do agree on the maturing and hoping one day she`ll level out lol? She keeps shooting up, the she fills out, then grows again....

I only take her on quiet hacks, she`ll only ever be used for hacking and small local shows and maybe popping a few jumps, have jumped her twice and they were only a foot , she gets ridden on the weekend and maybe once or twice a week , 45 minute hacks during the week and maybe two hours on the weekend....

As i`ve already mentioned twice, she was booked in for 2 weeks ago, my farrier had to re book me cant fit me in until this sat...she`s shod every 6 weeks like clockwork it just happens this time i got let down. I dont trust other farriers in my area as the girls are used to the one i use, he`s really good with them where as i know some other who arent to worried about taking a hammer to a misbehaving horse.
