Hi

Please forgive my total ignorance but I need help with spotting good/bad/indifferent conformation in horses.

I am looking to buy a new horse after having to have my lovely boy put to sleep a few months back after a ligament injury (he sustained 3 month after getting him home) that would not heal after 2 years of treatment, rest, controlled work, turned away etc....:-( The problem is I now lack confidence in my judgement of a horse, this is irrational as he was perfect for me & I was just unlucky but I have it in my head this time round everything has to be 200% to make sure it doesn't happen again - so I am making sure I am fully armed with all the right info.

I have been on so many different websites to look at what to look at for good/bad conformation and there seems to be so many things & often badly described so I would have no idea how to look for it!

So in total layman/thicko (!) terms please can you advise what conformation issues to avoid, may be passable or are a must have?

Thanks for help in advance!
