Because I am generally useless at knowing what to look for in conformation, please could somebody give me a critique of my girl.
Her physio said she had a very upright shoulder which is apparantly a good thing?? Anybody know why?

On a different note, what a lovely mare! It is hard to see her back end to be fair as her tail is sort of in the way - do you have an shots of her side on, standing square? She looks a really nice sort though - yes shoulder is a bit upright. Too upright is not a good thing though as it can restrict movement/extension. Does she jump well?

I'll probably have to get a better picture of her standing square.

Extension is difficult for her, perhaps thats why we still haven't found the extended canter button?? She jumps extremely well, shes currently doing some intro BE and later on in the year if all things are going well i plan to start moving her up levels..

Not the easiest pic to critique really....

She is resting a hind leg, so you cant see her hind limb shape... she is looking at the camera which makes her head look a little large, (I'm sure it isnt)

and its not a true side on pic so she looks a little short in the back (again she probably isnt).

A good pic really is key for a good critique....... example for you of merlin.....

A bad pic can make a stunning horse look like a pile of rubbish (not saying that about your horse though)

Upright shoulders a traditionally good because their easier to fit a full collar to and make it easier for the horse while in draught but for a riding horse it can (not always) make them a little bouncy/uncomfortable
