Confused about worming

Hi everyone need more advice again!!!

I am getting increasingly confused about worming

I though you were ment to worm every 6 -13 weeks??? Well the lady im loaning my pony has told me she only worms every 6 months with equivan. Am i correct in thinking you need to change worming products as well?

I am confused with the worming cycle and when and what to use to worm my pony please can someone help x x x

Why not do a worm count then the company will advise you what you need to worm your horse rather for than pump him full of chemicals if he doesnt need it.I worm twice a year but worm count in between and take advice what my horse needs worming for in spring and late autumn.

Well, the lady loaning your pony has certainly got it wrong.
The worming interval depends on whcih worme you are using, the longest interval being Equest at 13 weeks.

it all depends on what wormer you are doing to get the right time scale on when or when not to worm. It could be she only worms with equivan every 6 months because she is on worm counts but in that case she is using the wrong product any way because if you are on poo counts most people worm spring and autum for tape worms so usually uses something like strong p or equitape or if you are like me i worm sping and autum with a combi wormer and poo count the rest of the year!
