Confused by Ad

I think its probably been there and got the T shirt, it looks like its a lot older then 19. Poor old thing should be PTS rather than sold, totally wrong :( :(

Broken down a path or something to that effect! Agree those feet look long...um

What a shame Quick Sale!

She may get a lovely home. Iv just taken on a old pony who looked older but after a couple off weeks off actual care and correct feed, looks fab and full off life. Might get a very good home. Mine was one off these " free to a good home" which everybody says " should be PTS" good homes are out there.

Oh and just to add, I don't think it's right to put their ad here and slate their horse. If it was mine I would go bloody mad

Eh? Are you having a laugh? I would be ashamed to admit that was mine in that condition. She is never 19 (add another 10 and you might be close...) and looks cushinoid to boot. Poor old dear... what did she ever do to deserve being reduced for a quick sale!!!
Current economic climate says she probably WONT get a half decent home, owner should do the decent thing and have her PTS at home!!!
Poor old girl....

So the pony I just took on, blind in one eye, older than her and old tendon injury should just have been pts? Who now doesn't look her age after correct feeding and loving quiet hacks with my daughter. " free to good home" I wonder how many people on here would have said pts as you won't find a good home. 99% off you I expect and she's loving life and my daughter thinks the world off her. You can't say this pony won't get a good home at all, how many would have taken a half blind, old tendon injury old mare? I did and she will live her days out with me.

The pony YOU took on was incredibley lucky to find you....BUT, the sad reality is that at this moment in time, there are more horses than decent homes. People who could once afford to keep a horse can no longer do so, and reccession has seen horse prices drop drastically. Ireland has major problems that are spilling over into our country.
Welfare organisations are full to bursting with HEALTHY horses they struggle to rehome.
So yes....whilst there ARE people like you who will take an oldie on, many wont or more simply CANT!
Although if she were to end up at A40's then she would very simply land on her feet....

Joeanne thank you I think the world off our old girl and when she goes I will take one more. She even started jogging along today down the lanes. I know the problems which face Ireland and our own country to well and see first hand what is happening to the horse world. I could never do it to one off my horses even horses you sell can end up in **** homes when you think it's a perfect home as iv had this
happen to myself and never
again. Hopefully a40 will get the mare and all will be well or somebody like us who do care and she can live her days out. Honestly though I thought my girl was 30 odd and was so dipped backed and Boney, coat lifeless and I did think twice but now coat is so shiney, doesn't like dipped back any more and looks fab in a couple off weeks.

this may sound strange...but sometimes people put 'fake' ads on, that cannot be telephone contacted so you then email them, then they have your email address for whatever, sales etc, and this example could well generate alot of interest!! happens alot in the car trade!!

To be fair, I have a pony around the age of 19 whose back is as dipped as that but according to the vets it is down to Cushings. I'm not saying that the pony isn't properly cared for (feet are long in first pic but the next one is much better), just that I was surprised and confused as to why someone would break in a 19yr old pony by riding her down a lane and then try to sell her as a hack. I suppose at least they have been honest (as far as we know) and are trying to find a useful home for her.

I hope someone nice buys her and that she has a lovely home. I certainly think it's possible - I'd have a go if I had some space!
