I bought a new bridle from ebay which was described as a snaffle with padded cavesson. It arrived yesterday and it looks like a crank to me. In-between the padding of the noseband and the buckle strap there is a piece of double-backed leather which has been sewn so that it is impossible to open the noseband completely. Caused much confusion and hassle this afternoon, I must say.
Is this normal for a crank noseband and am I just being dim in not seeing an easy way to get it on without upsetting M? (who is not the easiest to bridle in any case).
Just to be clear I have nothing against cranks per se, but we don't need one and the listing didn't make it clear that it was one. Or maybe 'padded cavesson' is another name for them I have never heard
