So H is now mine :D

I am trying to figure out the passport and epically failing! Need to try and figure out the following:

- do I just fill out my name and address and send it with reciept?

-it says about a change of ownership fee- nowhere in the passport does it say what this is!

-he has a sock but this isn't shown on passport, how can I add it?

-I want to sign the bit to sign him OUT the human consumption thing, but its saying about being signed by a responsible person- but surely just my signature is enough. Who would count as said responsible person.
Also it says location. I'm at home so do I put home?!

Do they not come with instructions. Or is it actually really simple and I'm being thick?!

Phone up the issuing authority - google it. Issue authority name should be on the front cover/top of passport.

They will be able to tell you what to do. My Welshie, I had to send the whole passport back with cheque whilst my Irish mare I did it all on line and they sent me stickers with instructions where to stick them.

Who issued the passport for starters as that determines how you change ownership to a point? For some you might be able to print an online form for others you'll need to ring the office for a hard copy.

As to markings, you need the vet to add it and sign by the alteration, also to write the extra marking details which will be stamped when you send the passport back for updating; do remember to tell/write a note so that they know it needs updating at that place.. However, are you sure the passport is kosher as you don't very often miss a sock unless the chart was done as a young foal when sometimes markings can be missed? Do the microchip details match when he's scanned?

Are you over 18 as that would qualify you as a responsible person. Don't enter the word 'home' that won't mean anything, use the name of your location. I think you'll also need your vet to countersign that part.

Check what the passport says about markings. My boy's markings aren't in his passport at all, that page just has a mark to denote position of microchip with wording to indicate if they are chipped the markings shouldn't be drawn on

A vet at leahurst countersigned the human consumption bit when pony had to go in as an emergency as they could then use drugs that they could of otherwise not have used. So I guess the vet would be the person to see

That might be the case with very basic passports (the Pet ID ones for Eg)
Others will require the markings to be listed along with whorls ect regardless of whether a chip is present or not.
