Well, firstly well done...sounds like a great performance....any piccies to follow ?

WRT the BN Second Rounds, I believe they start at 1.05m, and are run 'GP style' i.e over 3 rounds, so will end up around the 1.20m mark in the final JO.

I think they may end up bigger than 1.20m in the 3rd round.. even if that is what the hand-book says! We jumped the BN Final at Arena UK in ponies and they were 1.30m in the jump off, but it was the final and not a qualifier, but then again it was ponies! Argggh! waffle, waffle!

BN regionals sound really scarey - 105 1st round I can more or less get my head around but 120 3rd round!!!

When do they happen anyway?

We might manage it if we get up to BE Novice in the spring. Suppose I can always do the first 2 rounds and chicken out if we qualify for the 3rd (not that that is very likley - I have a well developed competitive streak!!).

Do you know, if you get to the final, can you get someone else to ride the horse?
Its not allowed unless under extreme circumstances you cant ride your horse that someone else can ride it in a championship eventing.

We are not going - have run out of enthusiasm for Lexi's dressage - making a fresh start in the new year.

She is a superstar jumping pony - can't be expected to be good at everything!!

Vicky, a foxhunter JO is 1.30m......and a Grade C will be anything from 1.25m to 1.30m in the 1st round too....and they're both classified as 'Novice' classes

Yes, in BN someone else can qualify your horse but you can ride it in the final. That was the rule a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure if that is still the case..

I actually enjoy SJing now, just cant believe BN finals are so big! when you compair it to Advanced Sjing heights.

Naww hunny, well you could always take winston round a couple of OPNs if you like? I may not be able to afford to run both next year and I think winston may end up sticking to SJing as its cheaper! I havent told him yet as he is likely to get the hump

Yes, in BN someone else can qualify your horse but you can ride it in the final. That was the rule a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure if that is still the case..
