A few months ago when my horse was living out 24/7 we had a few days of high wind and my horse developed teary/gunky eyes. I kept her in and bathed for the next day then bathed twice a day until it cleared up.
Ever since then she has had a couple of reoccurring bouts of eye gunk (in both eyes but no tears this time) the first time I got an over the counter conjunctivitis treatment and it cleared up, about a month later it reoccurred but with some redness on inside of eyelids so vet came to look and prescribed gel which again after a week cleared the problem.
Now another few weeks later its started up again, back to gunk (but no redness yet) and I am back to bathing.
Anyone else had his problem? I don't know if it was triggered by original bout or whether that was coincidence but I am at a loss as to what could be causing it now after even vet treatment only stopped it for a few weeks?...
