Connemaras and crosses- Anyone have one? :)

I think you are all mad. Connie's can be accurately described as the shop stewards of the equine world.
Rowy, I have a connie x ID/TB. He does rather fill my time, and is I feel rather better looking than most men:

I have a full connie who is standing 14.2 as a yearling so we can assume she will be overheight but thats the plan. She is just lovely and will be a cracker when she is older.

I have a connie x TB. She was my first horse and is retired now.

She was never great at SJ or XC as was v. spooky but was fantastic doing everything else
county showing
elementry dressage
le trec
endurance rides
taught my mum to ride (very nervous novice)
taught me to have a seat (she was excellent with my mum but could buck for britain)
mounted games
hunted in a bitless with no martingale and jumped all the big hedges, I could of taken her in a headcollar and she'd of done her job :)

I wish I appreciated what she could do and was super at for more than just the last couple of years of riding her, before I was very focused on getting her to sj/xc. Once I gave that up and did what she enjoyed and was so good at, we had a million times more fun.

Sadly she's now retired with severe navicular and DJD and she was only 14 when she retired :(

I lost my beloved mare a few weeks ago and she was a Connie x TB and fantastic! I would not hesitate to have another. Loyal, honest and very loving but sharp and fun too! Irreplacable really but a fabulous cross x
