I was going to ask a friend of mine who is a competent rider if she would like to ride my aged mare for approx three times a week. As come the autumn I will not have enough time to ride her.
The mare will be kept with me and I will look after her.
What is the best way for insurance. I am not looking to insure the mare I just want to make sure if my friend falls off she is adequately covered and that the mare has third party liability for if she kicks a car for example.
Is it unreasonable to ask her to pay for the insurance and to make a contribution to the shoeing costs? I certainly wouldn't ask her to contribute for anything else as I would be paying for it anyway.
Anything else I would need to consider?
