Heyy,

I am considering moving myself and my horses too Bath. Could anyone offer any insight into areas I should consider that is accessible from Bath city centre but has the option for good hacking and good turnout? Moving from Surrey where we are over run by bikes and motor cross so ideally a place that offers expansive hacking or private farm tracks, thank you!

Being honest all of the surrounding villages are pretty accessible from Bath city centre, Bath is not that big. If you’re looking for a yard, there is plenty of choice in pretty much every direction, even towards Bristol. There is good hacking over Lansdown and out towards the M4 but depending on whereabouts you end up you’d probably want to look at the closest side of Bath, city centre traffic can be pretty bad especially in the summer. If you want to go further afield there are yards out towards Badminton which offer amazing hacking over the estate but it is the other side of the M4 and traffic can be horrendous (in normal non-COVID times) although I know plenty of people who have done it from the city centre but on a part or full livery basis to minimise travelling.
