CONSTANT feet licking, could it be fleas?

I remember you posted about this before?
Did you discount an allergy? What is your dog fed?
Could be food, contact allergy (carpet, household cleaning product, esp containing pine) or grass/pollen.

What do you do if you see your dog doing it? Do you try do distract them in any way or offer an alternative activity?
It can become an obsession/habit.

What does the vet say? Malaseb shampoo between the toes might help.

My dog was doing this, I was told by my vet it was an allergy to something could be multiple things so no point doing skin tests. He said it could be seasonal, was prescribed steroids which did not agree with her at all. I give her Bionic Biotic from Pooch & Mutt, seems to be working, she also has sardines every morning for the omega 3

We let her clean her paws but if it gets anymore than that we distract her with a toy or something, she doesn't do it obsessively when she is on her own or anything. Its not as bad as some I've heard of thank god, the supplement seems to work, maybe worth a try

His feet arent sore at all. We did change his food to Burns and its sorted out his skin problem, but the feet licking has got worse!
Havent taken him to the vet as they want to do tests and said it could be a million things.
Think I might look in to the Biotic suppliment, is that something I cant get from a pet shop?

Try here - TBH it may just have developed into a habit but even if his feet look sore, it doesn't mean there isn't something irritating him.

Do you wash the floor with anything in particular? What is he bedded on? Could it be the carpet? What about where he is exercised, could there be a chemical/crop spray?

If you don't get the allergy tests it is worth excluding different factors.

It is quite dear for what you get, not sure if it did anything for my dog as it was being used in tandem with other things but some people swear by it.

The floor gets swept and when it does get cleaned we use a really mild floor wipe. He's bedded on the carpet or the sofa!! We've had him forever and nothing has changed. He gets walked up the yard and theres no crop spraying or any treatment there.
He does seem to spend a lot of time rolling on his back, which is very cute, but could be related?

Allergies can build up over time without anything having changed, constant exposure over time etc.
Although I am not saying it is an allergy for definite! These are only ideas but you have a duty to him to explore all the avenues IMO.
What is the protein level for Burns? My dog improved greatly when I put him on a lower protein kibble, made less boring with oily fish (tuna, sardines etc) eggs, natural yoghurt etc, he is 'hot blooded', old fashioned as that sounds. He also has days where he only gets raw.
He is also on Piriton but you need to chat with your vet first about that, he can also give you Malaseb shampoo. With mine I don't always bath the whole dog, just pour some on a wet shower scrunchie and do his legs.

You need a grain free food.

Every dog i have known with a grain allergy has had bad skin that has cleared up with a better food but still paw licks until they are on grain free.

It could well be as suggested a OCD thing and he is repeating it out of habit, but I have seen alot of dogs recently react like this to common dust mite, which means a strict rotutine of boil washing all materials bedding, having carpets washed and hoovering twice daily and bathing the dog weekly to start with in a medicated shampoo.
Store all dried dog food in a sealed bin with lid and not in the bag to cover storage mite also.
I would also flea treat before hand and get a househole flea treatment so you have covered everything, and ditto try and distract when licking.

May also be a 'lick granuloma'. It's a bit like when humans get pins and needles in their fingers and want to rub them all the time...usually due to a problem in the neck...

Scotties and westies are quite prone to allergies. It is not uncommon for a dog to have an allergy, but as long as it is healthy within itself, the allergy may not flare up. Aswell as the other stimuli mentioned above it is quite common for central heating to trigger a flare up. I would see your vet and they will be able to help.
