Contacting new owners

I sold my TB mare just over a year ago and was going through my numbers yesterday on my phone and noticed i still have the number of who i sold her to.
Im always wondering how she is now but have never heard from new owners, I am now debating whether to text asking if they still have her and if so how is she. (I know it is possible they may not have the same number now)

So have you done anything similar in the past or would you?
 
I'm sure it would be fine to send them a message. I message my horse's previous owner now and again so can't see that it would do any harm.
 
When I first had my horse I texted the previous owner, weekly, then fortnightly and gradually reduced until i now write at Christmas. I was delighted when she called me back this year to thank me and we had a long chat about how he is doing. Anyone genuine would be pleased to let you know how things are going.
 
I found the girl I sold my first pony to (9 years ago!!) on facebook!!

I messaged her and she replied, saying that she'd sold him on but that he was still doing well & she promised to send me some photos and the contact details of who she sold him to. She never did though :(

I'd really like to find out about him but I feel like having asked once, I can't really do it again. On the other hand, he probably doesn't have long left (if he's even still around) so I'm in two minds....

Tell you what Vikki, you text your ned's new owners & I'll email this girl?!
 
Give them a text! You might get some news. The worst that can happen is that they don't text back, and you'll be in the same situation as now...xx
 
I would love it if my horses previous owners showed an interest, I think you should go for it!
 
I have sent a text, not heard anything yet :o
I thought a text might be better in a way as i wouldn't want to put someone on the spot, this way they have a choice if they want to reply or not.

Vikki, did you hear anything back from the old owners?
 
I haven't heard anything, i did ring the number to see if it was still connected/in use and it just says phone is switched off :confused:

Did you e-mail the girl?
