Continued livery unrest & threats

AS one of the people who told you on a previous post that you needed to stand up for yourself more I'm really impressed in how you've written this most recent post (sorry haven't read all replies on this thread). Well done, you sound more assertive and in control of the situation!
FWIW, I would definitely not speak to other livery direct to resolve it. IT sounds like your "YM" trying to avoid getting involved, if the LO is happy to talk to YM about it let them do just that.

One thing I would not not do at this stage is go to the police anything more likely to lose you the moral high ground with the LOer is hard to think of.

I'd invest in a big pair of headphones so it's really obvious you're wearing them and just ignore her, even if you don't play any music. It sounds like she and YM have been used to having the place to themselves and she doesn't like someone else on her territory / stealing her friend. If you don't engage, she'll either give up and eventually come round or realise you're not to be pushed around and move on. I'd make sure keep a decent relationship with the YM. Apart from that just being something a decent human being does, if she's onside or at least neutral she can hopefully act as a bit of a go-between / back you up if needs be.

I wouldn't go to the police. My OH is in the police and frankly, this is the sort of thing that makes him want to leave - not the road accidents, telling people their relative have died, searching paedophiles' houses or things like that but dealing with people who expect them to sort out their petty arguments.

I agree with others that, although this livery just seems like a nasty piece of work in general, her current behaviour seems to have a specific agenda behind it. She's trying to manipulate a situation and it's not going the way she planned so her behaviour is escalating rapidly as she becomes desperate to get her own way. I agree that it will probably come to a head when you actually move into the cottage and then she will either leave or go quiet.

So I would just keep her at an arm's length as much as possible and don't engage with her and see what happens. Camera in your horse's stable sounds like a great idea, but personally I would not go to the police currently as it might cause trouble with the LO. Though obviously keep a good record of any reportable behaviour in case it does come to reporting to police later on.

Good luck, I really hope you can move in and start to enjoy what sounds like a great opportunity with this cottage

My yard is a livery free zone nowadays because of just these situations. Part livery much more satisfactory than DIY then you do not have a lot of petty arguments about where you left your shovel because only the YO owns the b... shovel!!

Surprisingly many YO's do know quite a lot about horses and run a tight ship - it just might not provide the minutest details that liveries often seem to require these days.

Buy your own land and see how you get on. 3.2 acres of green belt grazing in my village has just sold for £468,000 - no buildings, no prospect of planning and totally overgrown. Who would want to invest huge amounts of capital in a livery facility to have this type of behaviour going out in your back yard?

Remember too, we are only hearing one side of the story and I do NOT want to hear the other side!

Somebody has taken a punt on that being development land, if they're right it becomes £3.2m, that's not by any stretch the average price of land

Very unlikely development - it is green belt, in the middle of agricultural land and on a blind bend of the road on a corner of a T junction.

Considering that they are thinking of selling Kempton Park Racecourse for development - which is entirely green belt, the local authorities are massively opposed to it and yet the racecourse owners seem to think that there is nothing to stop them - anything could happen these days!
