Convertor for Breast Plate so it can be buckled/clipped onto the D ring in centre of Girth?

As above, I used to have a Fairfax Girth for my old cob so my breastplate - used for a grab handle as hogged cob! - buckled onto the girth underneath meaning that the saddle could be put on and taken off independently from the bridle. But after I lost him, I sold it.

My young cob wears a GFS anatomical girth which has a D ring in the centre and already wears a XF Breastplate, I was thinking if I could get a convertor so his breastplate could buckle or clip, onto the D ring on the girth not only would it be easier for geriatric me, but more comfy for him to not have the breastplate loop between him and the girth.

Has anyone seen such a thing??

Would just a small leather strap with a buckle at one end work? I’m pretty sure I could find something in the tack room that could be repurposed. I’m thinking something like a flash strap but shorter.

I cut off the buckle, punch a hole close to the new end, replace the buckle with a Conway buckle that doesn't need to be stitched on, thread a swivel headed clip onto the strap and fasten the Conway buckle.
