Are they ok for horses to eat?
Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't feed too many - I believe they are more acidic than eating apples

I'd peel & stew them all then freeze for future use in apple pie or crumble or something

absolutely fine to use - we feed ours lots as treats - although an apple in each feed instead of a bowlful at a time probably a good idea

Ditto. But why not use them for cooking & give the peel & cores to the horses?

We have one in the garden and they all go to my horse over time. Frezzer is full of them for the winter. I hate cooked apples, thats why they all go to the horses.

They, er, seem to have the same effect on my mare as a very strong curry might on a human!

She gets quite uncomfortable even with a few bits of peel.
But her field mate eats them in any quantity she can get with no effect.
