What are thoughts on best fly rug for horse that gets warm. Once it’s really hot and flies are bad he’ll go out overnight and in during day but presently out daytime and getting sweaty in his fly rug. Flies are so bad not rugging isn’t an option. He doesn’t have much shade in field but to be honest those with shade aren’t in it. Thanks.

Thinnest one I have is a shires asker not sure if they make them anymore but the cheap white mesh are normally thin, but they don't last long with a rug wrecker my Louis rips them in under a week yet Arabi's one is on its 3rd year no holes and is washed alot.

Premier equine one - think it’s called something like ultra lite
'Supa lite'

I have one, even though I hate and detest Premier equine rugs. It is an interesting rug to use in that it seems to deflect a bit of heat, the top of the rug feels warm but the horse not so much. It is a strange material, almost plastic feeling. To criticise it I would say it is not deep enough for a big horse. Very well made though, quality fastenings and roomy/long in the neck.
