Any suggestions? I bought some aero chill boots but found my horses legs were warmer after using than they were before put them on!

Ice vibe boots are really good but a cheaper alternative would be one of those ice boots from Harpley Equestrian - they're pretty good. I find that if you wet the leg first it seems to 'conduct' the cold much better than a dry leg. Not sure how you are supposed to use fresh air....

we use ice boots , they are sopping wet so damp the legs down when they are put on , use use either cold water or with ice depending why . they are great for our mare

they are only supposed to stay on for 20 mins at a time though . I have seen oots that you connect to a hose so constant cool water running through . I hope the injury isnt too bad

Jay cloth, then ice bag from freezer then bandage loosely over the top. Keep on for 20 minutes, off for 20 minutes and repeat as needed.
All cool boots I've tried weren't very cold!

This. Ice Vibe boots are great for the vibe factor but the cooling gel boots inside only stay cold cold for about 5 mins, then cold for another 5 before they become useless. Ice cube bags all the way!

You didn't actually say that in your OP - what should I do? Check my crystal ball?

I think the clue was in the thread title - "cooling" - as in to actively cool rather than just being non-heating. The example boots the OP said she has used are for exactly that. Crystal ball not really needed.....

PEI Cold water boots are great. You just soak them in cold water (colder the better) and use like a normal ice boot. If you need to reapply, soak for 5 or so mins and they are good to go again.
I use them on my eventers legs all the time at home and shows.
