Coping with a new baby and dogs..

Sounds like your starting to develop a plan OP. I'm only 17 weeks but I am worried about what will happen with my dogs as I am due during harvest and everyone else will be busy on the farm. I know you don't like the tought of a teenager but have you considered an older neighbour, a retired person maybe? My mum has walked plenty of dogs for neighbours and although not a dog expert she is perfectly capable of following instructions and using common sense with demanding dogs like collies. Just a thought. Good luck.

One very useful tip is to make sure you have extra rings on the dogs' leads so you can fasten them up quickly and safely. An extra clip is even better. You never know when you'll need your hands free.

Would it be worth seeing if a dog sitter could take them for a week or more? If you can find someone reasonable sometimes this isn't much more expensive than getting someone to walk them. That might just totally put your mind at rest so you can enjoy the first two weeks or so with your baby without having to worry about the dogs at all?

I'm only 16 weeks, but I am lucky that I have a large garden so worst comes to it he can have walks in there for a while, I do have a dog walker a couple of times a week while I'm at work, and my neighbour walks him, so I'll probably continue that until I'm able enough to save myself some money lol :)
