These bits are listed on E Bay please can anyone give me any feedback on them or are the NS worth the extra money. Also would this bit be dressage legal ?
Many thanks

In the past I have bought 1 cheaper bit off ebay, but sent it back as the quality was poor with sharp edges so it went no where near my neddy. I personally wouldn't risk buying cheap imitation bits again as not worth the hassle. The photos look ok, but its not until you look close up and hold the item you know it's cheaply made. I'm all for saving money where I can, but bits I won't now.

I have a Neue Schule bit and I'm glad I paid the extra for it. My horse loves it. I know of several people now who have swapped to NS and wouldn't go back. Worth the extra money in my book! You can try the bit bank to see if the bit is right for you and neddy. If not right you can send it back, minus a small charge I understand. (I've never used them.)

not sure which bit on ebay you mean specifically, but I have this bit - the tongue saver version - from cotswoldsport (from their shop, but they are on ebay too) and I am really pleased with it. The metal and thinking behind the design are similar to the NS ones but I find the cs one offers more tongue space without impacting on the pallate, which is perfect for my girl. She is a fussy sort (and so am I!) she goes v nicely in it and is relaxed, I like how well designed and made it is - the price is v good too I think!

I`ve got a NS hanging cheek but the waterford, best bit of money i have spent and my mare goes like a dream in it,

Cotswoldsport is my dad and we make sure that all our bits are made well and unlike NS we have never had a recall!!
That said if they are hand finished you occasionally get small black marks where they have been polished out, but never sharp edges.

That tongue saver baucher was made for my horse, as he turned pink and couldn't use a loose ring without bits of skin peeling off. However he wouldn't go in anything other than a verbindend or starter NS due to the tongue relief (basically he sticks his tongue out if he feels it getting squished), but NS didn't have more cheek options. Therefore we made the tongue saver range and have a baucher, kimblewick, universal gag and pelham.

Hopefully should be making a D ring and full cheek in the future
