It's my fault, I jinxed myself by being smugly grateful that the pups didn't eat their poo when a mate told me her year old GSD does it still. Mug that I am! Today they have started eating it-each other's, their own, old, fresh.

I clear up all the time so it's not like they have loads lying round to eat (euw!).

Does it mean they're missing something in their diet or is it just a puppy thing? The other two never did it so I'm a bit horrified! Any ideas on how to stop it other than remove it asap?

I dont believe it has anyhting to do with lacking in anything, I believe it a dog being greedy and devouring anything thats smells and tastes (yack) good to them:D
There is the usual put chilli, citris on the faeces or feed pineapple in the diet or the good old pick it up quick like you are:D they will hopefully stop.

Any advice or pearls of wisdom as to how to deal with this would be gladly appreciated here!!
Have tried lots of things...
I think they copy once you get one? Is that just me or does anyone else see/think that.

They always want to give you a massive kiss/lick when you know what they have just been doing!!

Yeah, one started doing it, then the other copied!

Can I put chilli on some poo? It won't half kill them? I have dried seeds/pods and powder-just a sprinkle? Don't want their little mouths on fire!

Glad not just me imagining things then!

Heaven knows how much chilli to use. I tried it using the hot chilli powder. They sneezed & looked disgusted a lot, and then decided that chilli is quite nice actually, especially mixed with you know what.....

But then again I have hounds, so enuff said!! lol!

Not seeds:eek::D:p as above try sauce or powder, but I have also heard some dogs do lap it back and love it as above ^^^^:D you could try a water pistol and squirt the little beggers when you see them at it.
