Bloody well done, I saw that on FB, hopefully I can find it on youtube. I love your yards FB page.

We try our best to include everyone in our lives. Racing is such a broad reaching sport and I feel it is important for people to see the behind the scenes stuff as well as all the glitz and glamour of a race day.

I'm not sure why I ever bother asking people to vote for their favourite derriere Doodle as they always, always, always go for the thistle 😂😂

Congratulations 🎉
I've read somewhere that it's only the third Scottish win, making it even more impressive that it's the second win for Russell, and Fox.

Yup! Only the 3rd time a Scottish trained horse has won the National and 2 of those have been us! Rubstic was the other one.

Well done, Elf and the whole yard.

I checked for results part way through my hack today and saw race had been delayed due to protesters.

When I got back to the yard, a friend bounced up to me and told me Corach had won. 😀 Happy news!!

Many many congratulations to the yard and it was lovely to see his lass being there to lead him up and to lead him in. Derek gave him a brilliant ride and the total care he gave Corach after finishing was brilliant to see. Calling for bucket after bucket of water showed he had Corach's welfare at heart as did Lucinda who was also on course monitoring him. A good show of care IMHO.

Well done Elf and team! It was brilliant win, he looked like he was given a great ride by Derek.

Out of interest Elf, I was just watching the video of him being unloaded on the LR facebook page, why did he have one leg unbandaged for travelling?

We don't bandage them for travelling. He had a couple of wee cuts on 3 of 4 legs so he had them bandaged to keep them clean. Standard procedure for us, even minor cuts get cleaned and bandaged straight away.

Elf, that's great for you and all involved! Please post a link to the Facebook page for the yard.

Well done, Elf and the whole yard.

And what is the deal with the protesters? Do they not understand that this is what these horses are bred for? And if a horse isn't into racing in its various forms he isn't going to? Or at least not make it worth spending the time and money for a horse not interested.

I saw on Brian May's Instagram that he thinks the race should be discontinued. I posted that I disagree. I'm sure I shocked all of the bunny huggers. I tried to point out how abusive practices can lead to serious suspensions and that most yards take excellent care of the horses. I doubt I made any difference.

But, Elf, again, well done!! I'm going to have to look up the race on YouTube.

The controversies around the Grand National and racing are being discussed on the other thread. https://forums.horseandhound.co.uk/threads/saturday-at-aintree.828185/page-12#post-15185528

This particular group of protesters wants to stop all exploitation of animals, whether it's for food or sport. They think we should all be vegetarians and not eat animals, ever. Or use them for drug testing, or sport. The Grand National is a high profile event to disrupt, unlike the riding school down the road or races at a minor track somewhere, but they probably don't like those things, either.

Ah that makes complete sense, thanks for explaining. I didn't think it could have been a mistake and that one leg had been forgotten about 😂
