Cordless clippers

Clipping loose in the stable is fine for a horse which will just wander off if she’s had enough, but OP’s mare sounds like she might protest rather more vigorously than that - so safety first. One hand on the rope and the other on the clippers, maybe? Cordless is so much safer every which way.

I found this old pic which shows the relative sizes of my Heiniger Xplorers and my Liveryman Harmonies - the Harmonies are much more compact.

Haha yes she is definitely not safe for trying it loose in the stable, I also think she is worse in her stable. She’s so opinionated and is happy to say no with a threat, before at least giving it a go. Once she decides it’s ok she’s fine, just got to navigate the initial ’no thanks’ response first!

Good job she’s fab in every other way, they say the best ones have character right? 😂🤩

Update number 2!

Much more onside from the off tonight 🙌🏻. No fury, just made her feelings known near her ears and underneath towards the back end but that’s ok.

Pleased with her, yeah her first reaction was a touch over dramatic 🤣🙈 but equally once she’s over it that’s it.

You can see how little fluff she grows as you can barely see the lines bless her, but I do think this is a very important life skill for her 💕.
