On a serious note (which I know some of you struggle with), would would happen if the rising 2yo covered a mare? ie would the pedigree be recognised, would you be able to reg the foal & keep the pedigree? I am not sure that you could, but accidents do happen!!

In answer to your serious question, i will give you a serious answer...
It depends on other factors, if the mare was graded then the foal could be registered via the mare, say Mats Numero Uno colt did accidently cover Cordy then I would register the foal SHB(GB) because Cordy is graded with them, the foal would get auxillary studbook papers and the sire pedigree would be in the passport as long as a DNA sample from the sire as well as the foal was submitted with the registration!
Thats hypothetical situation tho as I am planning to keep Cordy well away from any randy teenagers, I don't want any accidents spoiling her show jumping! Its ET only for her...
Though just getting some very wicked ideas for Quest....he he he!
