Hi everyone.
My 17yr old cob loan horse has recently been diagnosed with corinitus. For a little while his heels seems sore and a little cracked which we were treating with germaline and sudocream as it didn't look suspicious.
However recently it has got worse, his coronet band is crumbling away and now has a sore there. His heels crack and bleed and one of his chestnuts are falling off above his heel.
The vet has given me a steroid cream and I've to wash and dry his legs daily, trying to wash off the scabs and apply the cream after.
I've never heard of this before and only found really scary stuff online regarding it. Has any one had any positive out come from this, or have any tips? I'm so worried about him now and I have never even heard of corinitus before.
Thanks in advanced.
