I want to get a corner hay feeder for my boy, but I am not sure if I am better going with the standard hay bar types or I quite like the look of the equisense flexi rac. My theory is he's less likely to rub his bottom an try and sit on it etc.
Any opinions please?

I have an imitation Hay Bar, but I use it under a net to catch the bits. It works well, allows the hay that drops to remain fresh and free of shavings, and she polishes it off from there when the net empties. The plan was to just use the hay bar but she is so greedy she is on a greedy feeder net!

I do make sure I completely empty and clean it once a week though, I have seen some grim ones with mice in the bottom when I have visited other yards! Because of this I hung mine high enough to get a brush/shovel underneath, and chose one with a hole at the bottom so I can shove it all through.

The horse ones are rather large, especially once you have raised it for cleaning, more for 16hh plus.

I have haybars for both my bigger horses (17h & 15.2h) but have put a false floor with holes in so they are not so deep, as found them to big even for the big horse, and I have made a mini version for my Section A out of marine ply. I love them, no waste and horses do not rub on them.

I have a haybar. I think it's great. I use it for my TB who I'm happy to eat until her heart is content so works well for us.

It's rounded all over so nothing really to rub on, or she just doesn't? Sometimes she'll pull it out and leave what she's then deposited on the floor but 99% of the time we're fine.

I had a hay bar. The original one. Mine emptied out every bit of haylage, trampled it round his stable, pooed in the hay bar, and eventually cracked it lol I gave up 😂
