Who uses them?

I think I'm going to have to get one for Jack, with every feed he puts his nose in the bucket and kind of spins it about, feed ends up all over the floor then he picks it up bit by bit, I'm worried at the amount of shaving he's eating with it! I've tried holding the bucket for the first few mouth fulls but as soon as you put the bucket down he spins his nose about in it and away it goes, all over the floor!

I've been puting the bucket down on an empty feed bag so when he picks up the spilt bits he doesnt est any shaving but to be honest its a right pain in the a$$ having to get the bag out, unfold it, put it on the floor etc, it's like feeding a baby!

I've neverliked these corner mangers as we had them at the yard I worke don and one pony pulled the bucket out and got his whole frount leg suck inside the frame, we had the pull it off the wall the free him. Have any have you ever had any probs with them? Or do you have any better surgestions?

i have had corner buckets for years, never had any problems with them

We had this problem once wont use the corner ones again after the same problem of a pony trying to climb in it .
now use either a door manger bucket to take on and off or even a round bucket inside a old tyre too heavy for mine to tip up x

I've used a corner manger for ages - never had a problem, easy to keep clean, no spillage and you can fill them with hay too if you don't like using nets.

I've used them for years too with no problems. Have not known any horse pull the bucket part out of the frame but must admit I would never leave the frame without the bucket in for the reasons previous posters have already stated. I too have a messy eater and having tried buckets on the floor and over the door buckets a corner manger solved my problems.

the bucket was in the frame at the time and was fixed high on the wall think he was just a very distructive pony lol . my old one never had any problem with his though .plenty of people on our yard have them . i just prefer the other ones now x

Crikey, a very strong pony as well unless I just have a very stubborn bucket that takes a right battle to remove!

I incoporated easily cleanable troughs into the stable corner when we built them. I used a halved beer keg so the etal is easy to wipe/clean out and set it in concrete - definitely the best "feed buckets" we have. In the wooden stables we have corner "mangers" and just filled in the corner below them with solid wood panels so no opportunity for horses to get caught. This can be done quite cheaply and efficiently.

A horse I look after likes to kick his feed bucket across the stable sending feed everywhere! In the end I got so fed up with this I just tipped his feed out onto a clean bit of floor for him, he seems a lot happier with this and eats it where it is!

I have one and my mare goes through phases of removing it from the frame. She only does it after it's all gone and she's bored though.

I now have them in 2 of my 4 stables - and much prefer these to any other feed buckets - never had any problem with my girls taking the buckets out of the frames.

I was just about to order 2 more for the other 2 stables - but then I had seen the post about the premier equine sale - and spent all my money in there!

mine will also knock over feed buckets and eat of the floor too they both do it must have learnt off each other

I now have corner mangers they work sort of.... ponios have to flick them out of there wall brackets, not happy untill they do..

but this happens mostly after the feed is eaten.. maybe worth a try for yours good luck...
