corner manger query metal strips

Bit random but just wondering, I've never known what the metal strips you can have or not on a corner manger. What are they for? Thanks

They are to try and help stop horses that like to try and chuck feed out of the bucket onto the floor

The frame is to keep bucket off the floor, the small strips actually fixed to the buckets I can only assume are to keep the sides in shape so it always fits into the frame? Seems overkill but stubbs stuff is really built to last !

They are anti waste strips for horses the like to bulldoze the feed up and out of the corners
