Would you always expect a horse to react with hoof testers?

Depends ont eh corn, the depth of it, weather horse horse is at the stage of feeling any disponfort on it. Corns are quiet obvious once the shoe is removed, hoof testers while the shoe is still on would show very veyr little reaction or none at all.

Well, modestly, I would say I must be the world expert on corns!. My horse gets them regularly having big flat soft feet and we have had him for 13 years! Yes once the shoe is off hoof testers should reveal if the farrier is competent

. I can pick up the start of one in my chap very early now as they are so common with him. He is not really lame just not right. He goes as a human would if he has a stone in his shoe. Usually takes about 1 /2 weeks to treat and to resolve but I have a pad on for about 6 weeks after he becomes sound.

A total pain in the neck - but fairly harmless...
