Hi - I have a horse which has been diagnosed with the above - we have been struggling with the condition over a year now despite numerous visits to Leahurst.

We have tried feeding biotin, evening primrose oil etc and although we had a slight improvement around March the condition has rapidly gone downhill.

Just wondering if anyone has come across this and what experiences they had of the condition and what the final outcome was - doesn't matter if its good or bad outcomes - just want to get an idea of what we may end dealing with etc

You might try a supplement with a higher level of copper, and paint the coronet with a copper sulphate solution.

We have tried zinc etc and using different oils etc on hooves and coronary bands but again no improvement at all

If he went downhill as the spring grass came though, have you tried removing him completely from grass? Could you try it for a month and see what happens on a high fibre, low sugar and no carrot diet.

Is there any possibility that your grazing or forage is high in selenium?

The copper supplement is something I'd try too - Copper Trition is widely available.
