Hi Guys
I went to view a horse tonight and before i went the owner said she had a small lump on her leg, when i got there however its huge! its more of a growth than a lump i think, he says the farrier files it down for him.
When i asked how she got it he said she had an old injury to her coronet band but instead of treating it she was just turned out in the field, it healed up on its own but has left this big lump/growth. He said he had a vet look at it and was told it was purely cosmetic and to leave it be.
It doesn't seem to cause her any pain, she is not lame and her hoof isnt damaged )she has new growth), its situated just above the hoof to the side.
I dont want to pay the money for a vetting if she is going to instantly fail, altho i know there is no way of knowing unless i do.
Has anyone had any experience with this, does his story of events coincide with this lump/growth? I know its hard to tell without looking at it and i didn't get any pictures.
Thanks in advance
