Correct attire for low level SJ

Nah, just that you have much more time to look at the eventers attire as they go round the jumpoff in collected canter :p

Ha ha!!! and yet the frequent moan of my SJ trainer (who only SJ not events) is that "you bl**dy eventers always treat SJ like a XC round!

so what would i wear for novice horse working hunter?

i used to compete m and m

but at the mo I have

Navy Champion Evolution Hat - i know not the best for workers, i used to have a navy velvet charles owen hat with flesh strap but i have outgrown that!

I have a Navy Jacket, Light Cream Jods, Ariat Boots + Gaiters in Black and a white shirt and my pony club tie (its a pony club show)

In an ideal world exactly what you wore for m&m classes. That being a velvet hat (not black), tweed jacket, coloured shirt and tie, beige/cream/yellow jodphurs/breeches and black long boots.

But pony club have their own rules so might be worth asking them. As long as you are smart, they won't be too fussy at local level. Just do what you can with the equipment you have, and make sure everything is as neat and tidy as possible :)

Ok thanks MissSbird :)

My arise concord chaps and heritage boots look like a long pair of black boots when on

I will try and buy myself a tweed jacket, I'm doing other workers as well

My hat is navy but has a silver strip down it and I am in the process of getting a charles Owen velvet :)

My instructor is a showing and wh judge so will ask her this afternoon in my lesson

its like a fashion show every time my yard holds a competition :( there's kingsland everywhere.
For sj, i wear a stock and pin with white breeches, long boots and a navy or balck jacket. for showing i have a tweed jacket, beige breeches, long boots and a coloured shirt and tie.

Another one that makes one outfit serve many purposes: beige jodhs, tall black boots, dark brown tweed, either shirt+tie or coloured stock (treated myself to a fancy one for my birthday last year :o ), and, alas, a skull cap with a black velvet silk...see siggy for approximate look. I can't justify multiple show gear at these low levels, and thought that tweed would be a) most appropriate for a scruffy round native X, and b) warm.
