Correct attire for SJ

I always wear a black jacket for sj (unaffiliated) and wondered if it would be ok to wear a hacking jacket for a change? Have seen a few people wearing them but have always believed (don't know why) that blue or black is the norm?

hacking jacket's fine for unaff, i've always though. and for aff at lower levels, no?

I wear my hacking jacekt for unaff.... never had a problem or had anyone say it was wrong....

As far as I am aware you can wear it for Affiliated as well - well some of the juniors on our yard do. I personally prefer them to black/blue/purple etc.

There is nothing wrong with wearing a hacking jacket for show jumping, wether affiliated or unaffiliated. I've seen many people wearing them at Affiliated competitions, & it has never ben commented on.

If Will Funnell can wear a hacking jacket at affiliated (as can his wife and pretty much every other eventer

I know some people wear their body protectors under their jackets but I seriously don't think my jacket would fit over the top! Either that or I would look like humpty dumpty! I find them so restricting, silly I know but you know what its like, you feel invincible until something happens.......
