We are looking at a pony atm for my little girl ( 4 yrs old) and she has expressed an interest in wanting to show it, Yes really!!!!, silly girl:)

MY only worry as never having done the pretty, pretty thing is, what is the correct turn out for me, her and pony, pony is a native so I know she should have natural mane and tail, but other than that I am clueless.

Thanks in advance

this should help you... http://www.hamletshouse.co.uk/showing/showingguide.htm just look down and there will be a section on lead rein and its all for mountain and moorland ponies so should be perfect for you
one other thing is my pony is a conemarra so a native too, on the website it says that you shouldnt wear a coloured browband... my pony wore a coloured one in best turned out and did not get marked down for it
hope it helps and good luck :)

What breed is your pony? Try looking on the breed society website for tips/pictures/links. You could also watch some classes at a show beforehand to see what everyone else has on their pony and wears themselves if possible

Tweed jacket, shirt and tie, no buttonhole, plain brown hunter type (non-raised) bridle, lead rein attached to noseband, brown leather gloves, navy velvet hat. Joddie clips or elastic with cream or yellow jodhs. Brown boots.

Handler wears toning outfit with pref. hat, gloves, show cane and boots or shoes you can run in!

Welsh ponies sometimes have a single long thin plait behind the bridle to show off their neck better.

Good luck, hope you have a great time.
