Correct Pronunciation of Kauto Star?

I always thought it was pronounced 'kayto' but watching the C4 coverage just now lots seem to be saying 'korto'... even the various presenters seem to vary in the way they say it!

Which is correct? I'm curious now, and don't want to make an arse of myself saying it wrong

I say it Kayto im sure how ever you say it everyone will know who you are on about!

As far as I know, because of how it's spelt it would be correct to pronounce it korto and not kayto. I think although could be wrong, the trainer and owner pronounce it as korto as well?

If the owner and trainer say korto then that must be it lol! I suppose you are right, the kau should be 'kor' when you think about it. I wonder where the widespread mispronunciation came from then...

Shame really, I think 'kayto' sounds nicer

I say Korto. Ruby did used to say Kayto though. It is confusing.
