Pls can u advise me of the correct turnout of a Riding Club Horse class? Particularly the bridle? Pictures would be great too!
Thank you :)

It's a long time since I did any sort of showing but when I did Riding Club Horse it was always at a riding club show.

I used to use a snaffle bridle and a GP saddle as it was usual to be asked to jump.

Horse plaited and I wore a navy hat and jacket.

I would also use a snaffle bridle, plain with no bling, a GP saddle as most judges will expect to see a jump or two, rider in tweed, shirt and tie, the same as for a hunter class.

With regard to the browband - would it not be a ribbon / patterned band if the horse is of "Riding Horse" type and plain if "Hunter" type?

If a riding horse yes I'd say you were spot on but a riding club horse is probably a bit more workmanlike and I agree with above, no posh browbands, definitely rider in tweed

Riding club horse should be a snaffle bridle and no spurs worn. More of a hunter type turnout out but a this level it is usually about taking part rather than having the correct kit so if you haven't got a tweed hacking jacket, a plain navy or black one would be fine.

Our RC horse show you have to do an individual show which incorporates two jumps, an upright and a spread

Surely turnout to type for RC horse class. If your horse is of Riding or Hack type then turnout accordingly.
Also, I would encouage you to scheck the schedule for tack restrictions! A lot of local riding clubs state "snaffle only, no spurs" but if you're looking at SFAS HOYS qualifiers then it's double/pelham and spurs as a preference.

Most SFAS competitors (from FB stalking- hope to do it next year!) wear standard show stuff to type, and a few use WH type turnout with other nosebands, bits, martingales :)

Don't think there are any SFAS things up here and certainly took me awhile to realise what you were talking about as it is not on my radar so to speak. However, to me, a RC horse class is a showing class done at low level riding club annual shows and my RC does has the restrictions re snaffle bridle and no spurs but you should always check the schedule and if not sure, contact the show secretary.
