Hello, wasn't sure whether to put this here or elsewhere but figured here gets more traffic.

Which is the better of the two? I used Cortaflex on my old mare with great success, but now have a young ex-racer that I want to give every support to bearing in mind the stresses and strains he's been put under in his youth.

The ExtraFlex SOUNDS great but is it that good?

I have been using the Extraflex HA for 15 months - my big heavy mare was diagnosed with arthritis of the coffin joint last year. I think the Extraflex has made an incredible difference. If you look at Feedmark's website, it lists all the levels and comparisons to other products. Also, I just saw in H&H that they have a special offer on at the moment - buy 2 and get the 3rd tub free.

Am currently saving to get some feedmark stuff for the cow pony! Have a friend that uses it and swears by it, and it being on offer is helpful!

Hey sorry to confuse the issue but i have used both products, but now use NAF 5* superflex and it is much better i can actually see the difference it makes.

I use feedmark extra flex ha and my horse is alot looser in his action.

Remember that whichever supplement you chose to use that you give it a chance, don't expect to see a difference overnight

Ah thank you.

Yes don't worry, I'm not feeding to make much of a difference, more for the support it will give him going forwards. But thank you for reminding me

Yes I saw the offer and that got me thinking. I've read all the info but thought that it also comes down to molecule size or something?

I'm no biochemist!!

Sounds liek extraflex it is then! I have a tub of cortaflex bought so I'll use that up and then try the feedmark. I think it was on offer at Burghley last year and that'll be about the right timing this year...

I use Cortaflex, becuase I have a fussy feeder and in general the scoup size is smaller than for any feedmark product...same goes for gobal herbs, although Equine America also recommend using cortaflex with their strong bone in younger horses these days... just a thought

My horse has a spavin. I used liquid cortaflex for a number of yrs. Then liquid cortaflex with added HA. After some time I discovered feedmark extraflex. IMO it has worked much better for my horse than cortaflex, even on the maintenance level. I wouldn't go back to cortaflex now unless something radical changed WRT it's ingredients. As an aside, I believe that the HA provides much benefit in the case of my horse. Anyway, the message is that I would go for Extraflex over cortaflex.
