Cortavet or Cortaflex FOR CATS

Wasn't sure whether to put this in SB or here. My cat has now aggravated his knee injury twice - the initial injury was in April, with the first aggravation being July. Both aggravations have been minor compared to the initial injury (trauma induced luxated patella) and he's had Metacam for them.

I'm wondering about giving him the best chance of repair and have found a couple of Cortavet and Cortaflex links. Has anybody used either on a cat or dog, with success?

Take enormous care Fran. My elderly moggie had suspected bone cancer in his near side front leg. My vets advised that the only licensed long term pain medication for cats is metacam. Sometimes steroids can help but they can bring unwanted side effects such as weight gain. Just because something is safe to give a dog or a human, it isn't necessarily safe to give to a cat. Cats have died following owners misguided self help.

Ive used cortaflex feline for an older cat, sadly he wasnt a foodie so often was suspicious of the liquid but he was with us for an age and Im sure would have looked his age far sooner.

Hear what you're saying, but Cortavet and Cortaflex are sold for cat use. I'm not thinking of buying the Dog or Horse version (well, actually, the dog formulation is the same, apparently!).
