Perhaps if they hadn't donated so much money to a certain political party to ensure a certain ban on a certain sport went through at the last change of government they wouldn't be in this situation.

It makes no sense - they are going to turn away dogs that are easy to rehome (sometimes within a couple of days) at a profit. I paid £120 for a dog that had already been neutered by the owner that had died - she had only been in the shelter for a few days so they definitely made a profit on her. Surely taking in this type would give more funds to rehab the more difficult cases.

true and I think it also lost them a lot of suport from the educated wealthy country type people who did a lot of donating and fund raising for them!! (both mum and my aunt lost interest too ) The other big problem is they are like most of the big charitys they are top heavy with admin and folks on big salarys at HO...

A charity I support will put dogs in the toilet block rather than turn them away. That shows you how bad it was where they came from.
Perhaps the RSPCA could, like the DT, spend campaign funds on educating people on why NOT to breed, buy breeds that are totally unsuitable for many environments and support puppy farms.

This is ridiculous. Perhaps they should be looking at their priorities and where they are spending stupid amounts of money. Not sure what their mission statement says but I can't imagine this being in line with it!

Hmm navy blue uniformed 'officers', no longer taking in pets in need, concentrating on legislation and lobbying....

Sorry, but isn't this what most horse sanctuaries and charities do now? They won't take peoples unwanted horses, only actual cases of neglect.
